From November to May, the climate is suited outstanding in order to explore cities such as Granada, Sevilla or Jaen.

Granada viewed from the Alhambra

Granada
has a very beautiful old town (Albayzin), with many small lanes, that are dominated partially by Moroccan small businesses.  Here you will find lamps made by leather painted with henna, jewelry, teapot, carpets, clothing - simply all, what a Moroccan bazar offer.  Equally next door one can visit one of the many Moroccan tea parlors in order to try one of the innumerable tea sorts.  Also "Falafel" and "Kebab" belong to the culinary walk, whose smells so good, that the can't resist.  When you leave the Moroccan district you should have a break in one of the Spanish cafes in order to be relaxed for exploring the rest of the city by foot. The cathedral "Santa Maria de la Encarnacion" is worthwhile, it's directly in the pedestrian zone.  In the "Calle de Gomerez", that leads of the pedestrian zone highly to the Alhambra, there are some guitar manufacturer, where you can have a view over their shoulder during their work.
If you like to visit the Alhambra, then he should calculate at least a complete day. The terrain of the Alhambra is so big and extensively that you don't like to discover the rest of the city by feet later on. At the end the "Mirador de San Nicholas" could be recommended, because from here you have an amazing view of the Alhambra.

Sevilla

  • Plaza de Espana,
  • Torre del Oro, the gold tower at the bank of the river Guadalquivir,

The quarter Triana that lies west of the river is well known because of its night life and its arts and crafts stores.  In order to not to explore all by foot, many coachmen offer their services.  Grant yourself this experience, it is certainly also a nice surprise gift for your partner.  Don't forget to negotiate the price before!

 Houses like caves in Guadix

Guadix
northeasternly of Granada is Guadix. The landscape reminds a little bit of the "Grand Canon".  The persons who live there build their houses into the mountains, only the white chalked parts with the entrances are visible from outside. It's a very interesting area around Guadix.

 Puerto Banus
 Benamaldena

Malaga
is actually a big city based on the economy of the industry. The harbor, in which also the "Queen Marry II" already designed, is only worth to see when special ships will stop by.  Behind the harbor, there is a beautiful old town, with many bars, where you get really good Tappas. The best view over Malaga offers the "Castillo Gibralfaro" to you.
When you are in Malaga, the luxury city of Mabella is't far away from there. Close to Mabella is the harbor "Puerto Banus" in which the "High Society" often meets to have a coffee.  If you don't be interested to meet the "High Sosiety", the you should take a look at least to the luxury yachts in the harbor.  On the trip return, a further very beautiful harbor is in Benamaldena close before Marbella.  This is worth to see because of the very interesting architecture. Especially at the evening it gives you a feeling of thousand and one night.

Nevertheless it has still its charm.  A small pedestrian zone invites with many small businesses to go for a stroll .  Of the "Balcon de Europe" you have a beautiful view to the sea, there are some restaurants where you can stop by. Close to Nerja, there is a drop stone cave, the "Cuevas de Nerja". It's worth to visit it, too!

During the wintertime there could be some days with bad weather, then you can have a look to the shopping malls:

  • El Ingenio - Velez Malaga,
  • various centers in Granada,
  • different centers in Malaga.

Marina del Este
is a small sport boat harbor close to the village "La Herradura". It's very beautiful to habe a walk there and look at the boats anchoring there. It's also possible to eat or drink something at one of the bars and restaurants. A small art gallery is also there. Unfortunately the big rock with the amazing outlook is blocked for some time.
